A little history on our home and how it came to be.

Both of our parents moved to Colorado so we spent all of our vacations in Colorado. We found that Colorado had the best overall weather and was such a beautiful state we decided to move there. Estes offers a multitude of interests for raising a family and is a great place to relax in retirement. We had always lived in large cities and wanted a smaller close knit community with a smaller school system to raise our 5 year old son along with son #2 on the way.

We were drawn to the house with its own unique look, without the typical type of decks. The house was perfect. It is spacious and comfortable. It is far enough from town to enjoy the peace and quite of country living; yet close enough to be within 10 minutes of the schools and town to take part in the numerous events and activities Estes has to offer.

We purchased the home from one of the local police officers who had incorporated the downstairs for their mother’s private living space.

Our fondest memories and enjoyments about living in our home is raising our two boys in such openness and beauty. We love the views from the living room of the Mummy Range which includes Mt Fairchild, Ypsilon and Chiquita and views from the deck of Twin Owls and Old Man Mountain.

During the summer months, I have been known to sit on the deck in the evening and listen to the quietness in amazement of the gorgeous midnight sky with the millions of crystal clear stars including the Big and Small Dipper right above me, and on mornings having coffee on the deck with the back drop of the snowcapped mountains. And when the morning sun hits those mountain tops the picture is indescribable.

If that isn’t magnificent enough, the wildlife is abundant around us. Over the years, we have watched herds of elk and deer spare; and coyotes, bears, bobcats, and badgers play.

We have reached a point in our lives that our sons are grown and gone and it is time for us to downsize. I hope the new owners of our home will enjoy their new memories as much as we have ours in living here, along with the versatility of a single family home which allows family and friends to stay with their own lower level privacy.
