This gorgeous lake reflection of Mount Meeker was taken from the shores of SandBeach Lake in the Wild Basin Area in the early morning after spending the night at one of the backcountry sites that line the shore. Pictures like this make me eager for summer to get here quick! From Estes Park, head south on Highway 7 towards Allenspark to the Wild Basin Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The hike from the Sandbeach Trailhead is 8.8 miles round trip and gains around 2,000 vertical feet to top out at around 10,000 feet above sea level at the lake. It is worth every step.
